IPL - Who’s interested?

Apr 29th, 2008 | By Donny | Category: Indian Premier League

icflogo2.jpgWhat is the level of interest in the Indian Cricket League Twenty20 tournament after 15 matches?

I’m wondering if there would be much at all, in Australia, if Gilly, Symmo, Watson, both Husseys, Warney, Matt Hayden and Simon Katich hadn’t been starring.

Have your say. Leave a comment.

  1. I reckon the IPL is going well. Good to watch on channel 10 and great to see the Aussies doing so well. What’s with Punter? Can’t buy a run in India.

Why is Cam White not getting a run? Or Brad Hodge.

  2. HIt & giggle MacCricket. I couldn’t give a rats clacker but they are lapping it up over there.

  3. I’ve been watching a few games. It’s been a joy to watch players who were previously on the opposite sides on the battlefield, play amongst each other. One of the best scenes of the IPL was Ponting jumping on Ishant Sharma and ruffling his hair, after the dismissal of Dravid. That scene was unimaginable a few months ago when they were at each other’s throats.

I’ve also enjoyed seeing Warne and McGrath again, and watching Murali Kartik’s spell against Deccan Chargers on that minefield. I enjoy watching good bowling performances in any form of cricket and have a lot of respect for bowlers who excel in Twenty20.

I had to laugh when Warne hit Symonds for 16 in 3 balls. Hopefully that will put to rest the notion that Andrew Symonds is a good part time bowler. He’s not. Michael Clarke is a better bowler.

  4. just loving the tournament.

enjoing the likes of warne, gilly, pollock playing along with young folkz from around the world and other good players.

all games have been good to watch.

i don’t mind a 1 and half monthz tournament like this ever year. 2020 not too good, but if only this much of 2020 is played.. then its good for cricket.

a great success this has been FROM BCCI.

and they deserve all the KUDOZ
